Another simple one.
By default, when you open an un-customised Notes 8.5 mailbox, the "Views" section doesn't contain any views. Simply put, it should!
Some examples might be:
By Sender
By Size
Mail Threads

I'm accustomed to copying values from the InfoBox which is very tedious.
It would be very logical to add a tool to all right-click view menus that copies the selected column/row value to the clipboard.

Hi,
In the composite app ui include archived mails in some views (eg all document). The NotesView module, should read the configured archive databases and present an aggregated list of mails. Archived mails should marked with an icon or color.

It would be useful to have the list of views in the Designer client either display the "Last Indexed" date or the "Last Accessed" date, which are already stored and accessible in the properties, in a column, so that it is easier to determine which views are no longer used and

I've been hacking the summary views of calendars, using embedded views to categorize single time entries, writing time-based agents, and ditzing with workarounds for @Today in views for quite awhile, more than a decade. I think it would be a real plus if I could provide more time-selectivity in views, without

Documents may contain multi-valued items . Many times the values in the items are related (e.g. a document describing an invoice may contain multi-valued items for the purchased article codes, article titles, article price, ...)
Suppose we need to build a view that displays all invoice documents that have at least

In view columns you have option to check sort options to Case-sensitive sorting and Accent-sensitive sorting. I would like an additional option to sort as numeric.
This to avoid problems in sorting of numbers stored as text. Today, when stored as text 2000 comes before 201, and 200.13 comes before 200.2.

Deleting a bunch (or even a single) document from Mail can be tediously slow compared to other email clients. Not sure how others do it quicker, but here is one suggestion for Notes.
When a change to a view occurs, Notes must always trigger a view update on the server then

when you select as a column property:
- show twistie when rows is expandable
and you use a formula similar like:
Category + "\\" + SubCategories
Only the first row is displayed with the provided image, the second row becomes again the ugly duck twistie as we know it.

I wish a selection formula could select a main doc an all its responses into a view based on anything in the respones
This would be very useful when building view such as all the threads a user has psoted to or any thread that pertains to a subject.

I get a few calls every now in then when a user has clicked on the header of a sortable column and they do not know why their type ahead search is not working. They also don't know what happened to any catagorized column. They might have even clicked on

As of now if we open the categorized view in lotus notes, the look and feel and the categorization option also toooooo bad.
There should be some mechanism in designer such that if u open categorized view, then it should be opened in the ajaz formatted view. Which is very convinient

The view and form design elements are the single most used design elements within Notes. Even with Xpages I expect it will be a long time before it gets even close to have the same level of adoption/use. For the next major release of Notes (9.0?) I would like to

navigating to views in the notes client is using the scrollbar, pressing the PgUp and PgDn keys or using the arrow keys.
i guess in some conditions it would be userfriendly to be able to action buttons with options to add a jump to top/bottom function or way to jump to

When searching a view with categorized columns, you get a results set back with the twistied Category listed. When you expand the category by clicking on the twistie, it expands but the category disappears. This is particularly frustrating when searching the log database as all you end up with is

This would be a technical session focusing on one specific topic. I believe you can do a lot to make your applications much more modern and Web 2.0 like by bringing a lot of those best practices to bear in the Notes client. My last two sessions with Nathan Freeman

I tried to see if this was already mentioned and did not see anything, so if a duplicate I apologize. Something I think would be awesome is the ability for the view selection criteria to be set based on values either from a DBLookup (though I see why this might

In Notes 8, the new "java views" (inbox, contacts, etc) can not be closed by right double clicking. You can in "normal" views.
