There is a huge opportunity now, to really target SMB with the new offering "Lotus Complete Collaboration Express Starter Pack", if someone, and I been talking about this for while with a friend of mine cause I don't have the expertise to develop the Java needed to link Sametime and Asterisk (trixbox), and offer it as an open source project that EVERYBODY has access to, you as an BP can offer the solution to any small and medium business out there. Basically here is the idea as I explained to my friend based on his e-mail: Hey Ramon, I'm thinking of making some Sametime plugins as a bit of a side business. I would make some general ones that could be purchased and then offer consulting for custom ones. Got any ideas of something that would be useful in general? Anything is good. Here is my answer: I got your email, now have you try this I think that whoever develops something like this and/or something like this and publish it as "pay me what you think is worth" will not only get all sort of business with support models but also plenty of money from diy users. Think about how many companies out there have Sametime and any PBX flavor like Cisco were you need to pay an arm and a leg to get conferencing working, they will also have to invest on a "Business Partner" to develop and install the Conference portion for Sametime. They will have to pay (not the arm and a leg), but they will have a solution that will cover their needs and will make it an easier case, to justify to go to Lotus. Another thing that will help is to link Sugar CRM to Lotus Notes (once again I don't have the expertise to do it), but it is basically SOAP connections to Sugar where you can post schedule information back and forth and have the click to call functionality along with meetings and Sametime meeting scheduling. I know there is the Lotus Sametime TCSPI, with "examples" but I cannot figure it out, and I'll be more than willing to pay a reasonable price for the solution and it will be a huge offering for all of you guys out there who are trying to compete with the other less rich solution called "ms....whatever". I don't know if this is the right forum for this idea, but i think it is worth to trough it out there, I have a friend who alway told me, talk to your kids, even when it doesn't looks like........ they are listening.
