A similar document to about and using database documents but visible only in Domino Designer. Into this document the designer could document all the important issues and “special cases” related to the specific database. That way the information would stay in the database (not for example in a separate document) and it would be available when ever you do changes to the code. When you start to modify code done by someone else this would be a good information to read before diving into the code.
You can of course put this kind of information into a dummy form or page but one common location, familiar to all developers, would be a lot better solution. |

I like this idea, but I would also like to see the Help\About and the Help\Using elements migrated to standard pages
The ability to designate the page as the Help/Using or Help/About or 'Designer notes' as suggested here could be set via a page property

Very good concept for standardizing Designer / Administrator documentation.
Expanding it to Help\About and Help\Using could break backwards compatibility for both clients and applications if not thought through completely.

@1 Yes, A regular page or form with a name $DesignNotes, $Help, $Using that could be used instead of the hardcoded using & help would be really nice.
Allowing it to be a form would provide a way to easily update it by non-designers also.
Take it a step further and allow a selections $help/Setup, $Help/offline... by allowing the the page or form to be cascaded.
