We use Quickr DOLS (Domino Offline Services) to give us portability; for example, I use it to carry the most up-to-date versions of presentations. It is also helpful for users with slow connection speeds. However, the only DOLS option is for an entire site. This forces us to have multiple sites to keep the size small enough to be portable. We also use Document Manager that has a "briefcase" to store SINGLE files in. The single file concept is what I am after. I would like DOLS to give me the ability to select only a folder, room, or file - not the entire site.

this is familiar. there was an add-on back in early R5 if memory serves we ran until somewhere around 5.10 that allowed Domino to be SMB server. It had great read performance but suffered for write once file count >10000 and size around 1GB (which was was relatively big then). We've done what I would say is a way to complicated "workaround" to use webdev and then have the design folder hacked to visible using that view design element hack that when clicked. we later abandoned it for a plain document repository db of which we just keep local replicas.
