Many times I press a Ctrl-A to select all documents in a view/folder (for whatever reason). I would like to be able to press Ctrl-A again to unselect all documents, rather than going through the menu to do that.
In my opinion, this is a bad idea. Standard behavior for Ctrl-A is to select everything. To also use it to unselect everything would be confusing to users. What if you select everything in a view that has auto refresh on it. Suddenly you could have more documents in the view. What should Ctrl-A do then? Unselect everything, or select everything. I demote this idea.
I also like Ctrl-Shift-A, I have promoted this idea however because I want a quick keyboard shortcut whether it be Ctrl-A or something else short and sweet. (yes I know I can do Alt-E-D)
There should be a shortcut to deselect all and yes, I agree, it has to be different. CTRL + A is a universal select all. I'll go with CTRL + Shift + A. I'm promoting on that basis.
