IBM recently announced they will be spending $1Billion dollars in the Unified Communications space. I have no idea how IBM will spend this money, but it would be great if they set up a fund along the lines that apple just did with VC funding of $100m for apple SDK solutions. a VC fund for IBM/Lotus UC2 apps would be a fantastic way of driving more partners to build solutions around IBM technologies.

I think this is a great idea, but I also think the person proposing it has a very obvious conflict of interest. No offense Carl, it just comes across to me as you saying "IBM needs to write me a big fat check".
