Please add intelligence to the OoO agent so that it recognizes when it is being enabled on a local replica. I have users that enable the OoO (in their local replica), then immediately shut down Notes. Since they didn't replicate their change up to the server, the OoO agent doesn't get enabled on the server.
Worse yet, when they come back to the office, the "enabled" OoO agent does get replicated up to the server. But since it's past the end date, they get a reminder to turn it off, and "no users were notified".
The solution could auto-replicate after the OoO is saved, and/or remind the user to replicate (if they are disconnected at the time).

Agree that it should be addressed. Have you looked at setting to replicate when shutting down Notes in their location documents or setting(s) doc? Then, when they shut-down, the change would be sent up. Train them to accept if prompted as well. I like the Island mode reminder.

In additional item for enhancement is enough smarts that if a user has their OoO agent enabled and a design refresh is performed the OoO agent then is "hosed". We find that you have to delete the OoO design element and then refresh the design in order for it to work properly.

We have our laptop users setup as Roaming users. This allows us to backup their Personal NAB, journal and other loacl DBs and has the added benefit of prompting them to replicate when they shutdown.
