For many SMB shops, this would be spectacular option. A simple NSF with limited views and an archive and/or purge agent to keep it reasonably sized.
This does NOT eliminate an option to log to a relational DB. I understand that for large shops, this may not perform as well as one would like, but for many smallerish shops, it'd be ideal.

I made a database which imported .txt files which were exported from the sametime client. I believe in R7 and futher an automatic feature. And I thought OpenNTF.org had their own version of this.

@1 - indeed, but a lot of folks like to have a native version that's delivered with the product.
I don't see it on OpenNTF, and the SMBs I work with don't usually have coders on staff to maintain.

I hope that you aren't thinking of one Sametime server platform for this feature (like Windows severs). There are some of us that run Sametime on other platforms. :-)

@3 - If I remember, NSFs actually work on ALL Domino-supported platforms.
