When you click Reply with History then the emails grows and grows. Would it be possible to only save the latest contents either locally or on the server and reference it when a reply to History is made ?

Author: Mika Heinonen
Comment: Notes should only send a "difference" info to the receipients, and remove all duplicate mails which contain the same history as the last "Reply to all with history" mail. That way, no attachments, no body text would be ever sent twice.
Author: Corey Davis
Comment: This is one of those ideas that I understand what you are getting at, but when you consider the difficultly level in developing the idea I don't believe that it would be worth the effort for the small return that we would get from it. After all, how do you handle adding new people to distribution after the message has already been replied to multiple times? The new recipients would not have a copy of the original text that was stripped out if it is saved locally. If it is saved on the server then what if they are one of the first recipients on a particular server that doesn't have the message history? Is this data supposed to replicate between servers? Then you have to consider how many databases are linking to the history so that when the last person deletes the last copy of the message the message history can be deleted as well since it is no longer part of the message. How do you handle local replicas and being offline if the message history is stored on the server? How about archiving?

I am thinking that I am missing something here because so many people have promoted this.
Author: Alan Lepofsky
Comment: Notes 8 collapses all the sections by default, expect for the newest one. Notes 8 also has a new section style, created for reply history, where the first few words of the section are shown.
