Idea:

Thanks for staring ideajam. I just now stumbled upon it and am impressed with volume and quality of posted suggestions. I am surprised that I did not find anything suggestions for a subject sort. My idea is to enhance the Notes mail template to include the ability to sort the message subjects alphabetically. IBM has provided thread views which have their place; however my users don't care for them and continually gripe about not being able to simply sort by subject. I try to up sell mail threads and indexed searching but they still want a simple sort by subject.

Update 1/11/2008 - As pointed out, my organization does use the older 6.5 Client. I have no good reason why I missed it in ND8 since it now seems obvious, I just never tried to hit the column header to see the mouse over. In response to the idea to modify the template, it is our organizations policy not to modify standard Notes templates to avoid support and upgrade issues. This is easy enough to do that Lotus could have had it years ago. Anyway, I apprecaite the clarification provided and am withdrawing this idea.

Comment: William Notes 8 allows you to sort email by subject. Are your users using Notes 8?
