Good idea. Better yet make the clicked column a parameter of NotesUIView's "QueryOpenDocument" so that we all can write code doing this kinda stuff.

Hmm granted that the wording "recent" is cumbersome for contacts you haven't mailed for two years :-)

Maybe the following behaviour would be a compromise: The view "recent contacts" gets automatically "cleaned" after a configurable number of days X. Those contacts you havent mailed with for the specified number of days will get moved to another view like "known contacts" (insert fitting wording here). Within this movement those contacts also get the flag "do not use in type ahead".

Overall the "recent and known contacts" should devide in 4 views:
1. Recent contacts --> mailed within the last X days
2. Known contacts --> not mailed within the last X days
3. Used in Type ahead --> All recent and known contacts that are used in type ahead (yes, you may mark a known contact as "use in type ahead" manually
4. Not used in Type ahead --> see 3.

Then, for you guys really not want to clutter any view: There could also be a second configurable number of days Y, after which not mailed contacts get deleted permanently, so you would have the possibility for a 2 strike scenario.

If I'm working in another program, accordingly the task bar entry of notes should flash (just like sametime does) without stealing focus to my word or excel or whatever I'm doing.

Would suggest to make this a switch that the user can turn on and off, maybe even distinctive for different calendar entry types like all day event, meeting, etc.

I would suggest not deleting the recent contacts but marking them as "do not use in type ahead" as this option is already available and would suffice not to pile your type ahead list.

Please elaborte your idea. Do you mean that Notes should be aware that sender a1 and sender a2 both sent a similar mail to recipient b and warn sender a1? How would this be possible not compromising the security framework of Notes / Domino?

I am demoting because the whole implementation of rendering inline images in designer / notes is so sloppy that this should be redone from scratch and not just ad another checkbox to gloss over a -sorry- crappy implementation. I mean c'mon guys just look at symphony's implementation of image handling. That's the way you should opt for.

Please introduce support for jpg,gif,bmp,png as database icons. I as an Notes developer of an 3000+ employee company can't even count how many times I had to argue with some project leaders about how on earth it could be that the icon for that new fancy developed database can only have 16 colors...

Please introduce this. It is the one of the first impressions a user has about Notes, and should be a good one.

I promoted that although I think this is hard to get the out of office status at email creation time.
