This request was not about the recipient's address, it was about the sender's.

Now now Jason. Product developers never like having outside parties tell them if somethings is easy or not. Let's just say "yes we want it", but leave it up to the coders themselves to decide if it is easy or not. For example, while you may feel creating a UI for the input is easy, perhaps the APIs don't currently exist on the backend to take that input and have the fonts actually update on the screen. If that is the case, then this is not "an easy fix".

@6 David, I don't work at IBM any longer, so I can't officially comment, but as far as I know IBM has NEVER said they use IdeaJam in any official manner. Yes, you should always speak to your IBM rep to get your company's requests formalized.

Since I don't think IBM "officially" uses IdeaJam for feature requests, I don't think they should be closing ideas. I'd suggest that the idea owner could do it. After all, if you wanted something to the point of posting about it, odds are you'd be excited when it makes it into the product, and you could then come back and mark the idea closed.

I'd say showing people things they can do is exactly what a "Best Practices" session is. These don't have to be for just Admins and Developers, it can be for users to. Mac agrees.

The development team has already heard this loud and clear, and I believe is address it.

Part of the code is already there, in the embedded Sametime 8 client. Extending it to Notes would be excellent. (and obviously share the same images)

@4 If when you click on a day in the mini-calendar, and your calendar does not switch to that day, then something is wrong. If that is the case, I suggest you contact Lotus support, and provide them details like what version of Notes you are using, which mail template, what OS, etc.

Isn't that exactly what Owner Actions - Confirm does?

Similar to @1/2... I would not want the change of date to also change the style of view I am in. When I click on a day, I expect to to go to that date, in the current view style I am using. (which is what it does)

I guess the more modern way of doing this would be to "tag" emails, and then have a tag cloud to navigate your email.

This is a great idea. As a little shameless plug, I can tell you that many developers have emailed me that this use the Paste Information tool for doing exactly this. They create documents with code snippets, and then can add in the code with the click of a button.

I've never heard of hatebook, and don't really think the Lotus community should be promoting anything with "hate" as a topic. To help with Mika's suggestion, maybe there could be an "additional" field to accommodate people's individual choices.

Is there a way to combine this with Keith's vote so that neither one gets "diluted".

This is a known issue, and is already being looked at for a future release of the Notes client.

I'd like to see the request be more generic, such as "make it easy to copy the properties of a database to the clipboard". Perhaps a single button on the properties box that puts the DB title, path, size, replica ID, created date, and last modified date onto the clipboard.

Notes 8 collapses all the sections by default, expect for the newest one. Notes 8 also has a new section style, created for reply history, where the first few words of the section are shown.

Did you know that if you use the Hold and Retry method of Quota enforcement, you can tell the router to use the % used instead of the file size when determining if email should be delivered?

This will be available in a future release.

I'm not sure how to vote on this. I think this is would only be for really technical people, so I'd certain want it hidden from the average user. I want to see the Notes client simplified, not complicated.

I do agree that local DBs should be compacted, but I'd like to see it just happen in the background, and not have the user know about it at all.

I'd love my workplace to be more like File Manager. Let me sory by name, date, size, created, last modified, etc. Display a detailed view, an icon view, a list view. Much of this already exists in the Domino Admin client.

Risk or losing an ID file is not a reason to lower security.

I really prefer the way Notes 8 handles this, with Recent Contacts. That way people you've recently received email from are automatically added, but if you don't interact with them for some time (I don't know what the purge time is) they are removed. In 8.0.1 you'll be able to remove a recent contact or promote it to a "full" contact.

I use this to block spam addresses. Like all other menu items, an option to hide it would be find with me, but do not remove the feature.

In addition to the outgoing email address, it need to know which SMTP server to connect to when sending.
