It needs to be able to be overridden at the xpage level so that you can have the default at the application level for like 3 or 4 xpages, but the remaining 1 uses something different.

Sorry, I should have explained myself a little more clearly.

I know you have the ability to do what you show in the screen shot, but I was referring to when you right click an entry in the working set and choose the 'Remove' option which removes the database from all working sets.

How about also displaying a ranking for each ACL entry listed for the user researching or shown them in the order of highest to lowest relevance so that if they are a member of multiple groups that have different rights or the same rights with different parameters you could quickly tell which group gives them more power.

So, is this idea going to be implemented since you are the judge and jury (hahaha)?

What are some examples of these ACL dialog functions you are referring to?

I understand what you are saying Stephan, but 2 questions.

1) Why did you demote my idea when it would still be nice to have a collection of views when you switch to computed
2) Why do that if you can just use computed during initial development

I am a developer so I am not completely familiar with the calendars, but what is the difference between your forward invitation function and using the delegate function allowed today?

I am promoting based on your other possible function of allowing invites to invite others per chair.

Your idea is what prompted me to finally post my idea which I had thought about many months ago and for some reason I wasn't able to save the idea with an image like you did. Your ACL button is great, but I don't see how it will work for my idea.

You are correct and I had mentioned doing that as part of my idea also. I just think it would be easier to just have an action button there with the template/server name fields.

What would be even better or in addition to gathering from the shared resources would be the ability to pull from something like a profile document that gives the application owner the flexibility of changing, but the developers can still restrict who has that option.

Sean, your comment makes it sound like Lotus C API is dead and shouldn't be used. So, please tell me how one finds help when trying to debug something written with the Lotus C API (i.e. the custom function from { Link } or in the SuperNTF project on OpenNTF) that is used to obtain user activity information for instances.

I agree 100% with your idea and the need. It would be really cool if IBM finally decides to make this happen that they would implement these 2 functions:

1) the ability to save the working set for emailing to a co-worker as you stated
2) add working sets to the preferences with some option to keep them synced between all my computers like 'Xmarks' does for Firefox bookmarks/tabs/history and central location to save

I did promote this idea because I see it being very useful to administrators and especially developers that aren't allowed to have the Admin client. This is also the reason we have our own custom catalog where we log the ODS version.

Also, it sounds like you may be an administrator yourself which means you already know that the ODS version is available using the Admin client and viewing the files.

Not only do I promote this item, but I am jealous that I didn't post it myself. Our company recently encountered this issue with the multiple entries found. We know the error number being returned from this, but haven't really figured out a way around it completely. This also occurs using the @MailSend.

When I first did my search some time ago I was able to find this site where they list several companies that provide what I am asking for, but as you will see it is fairly costly. I would think IBM, or as you said one of their premier partners, could provide these services at a much better cost.

I promoted this because I also like this option, but often find that I do actually what to apply the settings to all column headings/text. However, maybe there is a way to have a checkbox for apply to all/apply to selected, then for selected give a selection box with the columns you wish to apply to.

It sounds like your saying that you have tried to fight this battle on numerous occasions yourself and have just been knocked down each and every time. However, it now seems that you are also knocking down my ideas. Sure, I agree that they are not all perfect. I thought the point of this site was to put out ideas for others to vote on and add their two cents to which you have and I am grateful for that. Although my idea is at a -1 at this point I truly believe that enough developers/admins have been put through the ringer with document locking issues that IBM needs to address it. In my experiences documents don't get unlocked during a computer/Lotus Notes client crash. Putting an icon in the view to identify locked documents is a brilliant idea.

1) Please explain how you code to unlock a document at the end of a process when the employee's Lotus Notes and/or computer crashes!
2) Sure we can write an agent to run every hour and unlock documents, but which would hog more resources: 2000+ agents running every hour or one server task; according to our admins 2000+ agents running every hour
3) Sure we can give a group the ability to run agents on the server, but not every database is going to have the same group that need this ability

By the way, I love this because in the end we all learn best practices

Peter, I can see your point depending on how your organization sets up the ACL. For out organization editors are typically the database admins and others have Author or less rights. However, what do you think about the other 2 options?

This should be more of a administration function since they are the ones that decommission the servers. In theory this would be a good server-side function that the administrators setup to be run on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis to automatically remove chicklets for a specified server. If made available to general users also allow for finding new replicas on selected server at same time of removing chicklet for specified server.

There is no reason why IBM should not be allowing developers the ability to set the properties of the action bar as stated by Rob Goudvis
