Shortcut for 'Search This View' (19 Dec 2009)

In the full 8.x clients, the search option is readily available, and appears to handle the "search this view" for you. Just type something in the visible search object usually in the upper Right. It does it for you - of course this is only in the Standard client.

Prevent Design running against database (23 Apr 2008)

Really, more of a question then a comment. Do you mark template inheritance references in the database, or in a template that the database inherits from?

I wish collapsable sections could be expanded/collapsed programatically. (10 Apr 2008)

With @Commands you can, though you must know the category name explicity so it can be found. Is this specific to LScript or other languages?

Rich Mail Support: Replica ID's in the 'Use' Statement (27 Mar 2008)

I love this idea, and feel it is a long time coming. You could create 1 or more databases in your environment that sort of act like LScript DLLs.

Notes native JOIN capability in a notes view (27 Mar 2008)

I really like this idea as well, but what if the use of a JOIN could only be used on indexed views and the columns available in those views (not the documents themseleves). In otherwords, the views act like SQL tables - rigid items of data and even data sizes possibly. Perhaps it would require a new view "Type" that allows for views specifically for JOINs to another view. Then the hit may not be too bad as the indexes are maintained by the JOIN views. Just a thought.

Attachments placed in their own pane and not at the bottom of emails (27 Mar 2008)

I too am with the "show them in both places" crowd. I think it should be configurable for top or bottom (some users might like it at the bottom). Though just at the top is fine - but in line attachments are great too!

View Selection from Lookups or Profile Documents (22 Mar 2008)

Obviously I am the only one that sees this as a necessity. I will get around to withdrawing the idea soon.

View Selection from Lookups or Profile Documents (21 Mar 2008)

@1 Matt, thanks for your feedback on the idea. I wonder though, would there really be that much overhead from a profile document value? Profile documents are memory resident, the foot print would be small. I can't see how this would be much different then a data view in a DB2NSF. They are created with "virtual SQL" code and the view perform quite well (from my understanding).

Compare quota settings for clustered DB's (20 Mar 2008)

I like the setting idea, perhaps it could be like the "Enforce Consistant ACL" setting in a database. For example, "Enforce consistant DB settings across clusters".

Select Document - Select Multiple (13 Feb 2008)

Sorry. Should have checked myself before posting. Idea came up during a discussion with a colleague while talking about ideajam. Just posted it - won't do that again. Demote away - I wish we could just remove an idea that we created if we realized it was not a good one.

Make password change from AD cause ID recovery (09 Feb 2008)

While this would be awesome, it seems to me that it would rely on Microsoft to provide the solution. Or, perhaps a server task that periodically checks for changes, but would that be acceptable? If so, how long after an AD change before it is seen in Domino is acceptable?

Single category view without having to embed it (08 Feb 2008)

@3 - Matt I apologize if that is what the documentation says. I could swear I tried it in the past and was not successful. Have you done this successfully? I am definitely going to have to try it out again.

@4 - Kerr, where I see this being the most helpful is in a Frameset, where the the navigation pane is used to open a view in another pane that should be "filtered" by criteria that is passed by the navigation object. (hope that makes sense) .

Group topology (08 Feb 2008)

In the Group view of the Domino Directory (@ least in version 7, possibly version 6.5x) there is a "Find Group Member" action button. You specify a common name (either user, server, or group) and it will display all the groups that value is in. Is that what you are looking for, or do you mean more detailed like, group 1 is in group 2, group 2 is in group 4, and group 4 is in group 10. Thus technically, group 1 is also in group 10?

Single category view without having to embed it (08 Feb 2008)

I believe, though may be mistaken, that @SetViewInfo only allows a single category when in a Calendar view. I agree with Rob that this is needed in all view types, though admittedly this may now be available in Notes 8.
