along with Axel's XPath idea:

import/constructor methods would be nice too.

how often do you need the full yadayada when using the ?readviewentries?
 
it would be nice to be able to specify the option that you want the output without the timestamp, position, toplevelentries ... info

?ReadViewEntries option to provide data in a dojo grid input format

Reformatting view data to shoehorn it into a dojo grid, that's a bear of work.
 
I would think it would be tremendously useful to just hand dojo grid a URL to a view and let it "go to town" on the data there.

Currently Lotus Widget Factory (LWF) is not able to consume JSON. When adding this capability to LWF it becomes more useful as more and more resources/services are offering JSON as an output format.
