Collapse preview pane on double click onto border of expanded one

When you doubleclick onto border of collapsed preview pane it expand, but when you doubleclick onto border of expanded one it isn't collapsed. Why? (Basic client)

Default action for a Controls panel expand instead of collapse

mostly if I click on a controls panel I want it to see what for options are in it, not to hide it.
 
therefor it is more logic that the default action is to expand, not to collapse.
