I'd like to have a drop down list which enables me to choose the signature I want added to the email. (or blog/forum post) Today I get around this by using my Paste Information application, but I'd rather have this integrated.
This would be similar to permanent pen, but you would not have have to turn it on/off.
Mac Mail.app makes this very simple. (as does Outlook I beleive)
It would be nice to not need 5 or more location documents for all my emails.
While I can have one inbox, I can not have multiple outgoing email names/addresses from that one box, thus 5 different location docs/dbs, etc.
I can make personal stationery, but not personal email addresses?
Especially in the SMB market, where people are working for/under different organisations, but using only one mailfile/Notes-Identity it would be nice to have a way to select from different sending addresses, when sending to the internet, like some other mail clients do (drop down list or so).
The Notes 8 delayed image loading for HTML mail is nice, but it'd be REALLY nice if you could set (and have it remember) trusted senders or domains that would load automatically.
Certain other email products have this functionality....
I like the fact that the notes client doesn't immediately show images on an html email. Especially as I might be looking at a bit of junk etc.
But I don't want to have to right-click "Show Images" everytime I receive an email from a trusted source ...
We need some statistics around email group usage, such as last date used, # of times used, etc.. It is very difficult to determine if groups can be removed without this type of information.
Many times people benefit from the same type of stationary i.e. travel request. Often I am doing end user training and showing them stationery and then someone will say "yeah I use stationary for such and such" & then everyone wants that stationery and then I have to show them ...
I want to be able to right click on an attachment in an email message, select Copy, and then paste the attachment into a new message. Even in 8.5 I often get other pieces of the original email together with the attachment. The only way to reliably do it is ...
I have been thinking and talking with colleagues and one useful tool/add on would to be able to draft an email (save it) and schedule Notes to send it delayed at a specific time.
The benefits include: being able to send personalised reminders to individuals; send ...
When addressing a message and using type-ahead I frequently encounter the ambiguous name dialog box. There are many address resources: my local address book, the domino directory, condensed directory catalog, extended directory catalog, and now recent contacts. Usually there's a few entries that come up in the dialog box that ...
Based on some recent experience the Notes client does a very poor job of rendering HTML mail. As far as I can tell the problem relates to the clients interpretation of inline css.
Assuming that an email contains compliant CSS 1.0 instructions and XHTML I'd expect it to render well and currently it ...
Currently, when a recipient's e-mail address is ambiguous because the person is listed in multiple address books, the method NotesDocument.Send() in LotusScript, or Document#send() in Java, just fails. I wish for an additional, optional parameter to that method that allows for a more intelligent handling of that situation. For example, the parameter ...
I recently experienced irate users who were unaware that their mails had not been sent due to some ISP issues.
The users were workign remotely and replicated to send mail.
They were upset because Notes never tells the user in an obvious way that their mail has NOT been ...
I think the mail rules would become really powerful if you could have email headers as an option for a condition.
Create Condition: Headers : Contains : X-Spam-Flag: YES
Action: Move to Junkmail
The rendering improvements for HTML are great in Notes 8!
But .... it'd be realllly nice to be able to print the whole email, including From/To/Subject/Date info.
When user has added followup flag & text to email message: show the followup text, in a pop up box, for that message when mouse pointer is in the "flag" column of the inbox or folders.
Provides a quick way for user to read their own followup text or reminders without ...
We often get asked to transfer folders of email between users (i.e. on role change).
This is similar to the linked idea for calendars, but for email messages.
I have written an agent that copies entire folders from one users mailfile to another users mailfile. Having this functionality ...
In the mail template, it would be nice to have New Message with Stationery... under the New drop down menu when creating a new message...
I'd like to be able to click r to reply, a to reply to all, etc... like Gmail.
It should be possible to drag an email og generic document and drop it in the Day-At-A-Glance sidebar plugin.
Even better; If the Day-At-A-Glance plugin had the possibility for showing time-slots, the document could be dragged directory to the time of day you wanted.
Our users can create their own stationary, with their own letterheads. They would really like to make that stationary the default whenever they create a new email message. We don't want to add the letterhead to the template as we are trying to keep mods to the template to a ...
Allow Sametime users to see if someone is Out of Office (instead of just unavailable). This would save a lot of time and effort for users who currently try to get hold of somoene but only find out they are OOF by sending and email. As part of the ...
Workflows usually genereate some emails. This function is pretty plain within Lotus Workflow. There are some real important features missing, like the "CC"-Option (I didn't count the times I've benn asked about...). So what could be done better?
With 8.5.2 the option of saving to .eml was introduced. Great addition, am absolutely loving it!!
There's just one inconsistency.
When I'm in a mail I have the option to click [FILE]; [SAVE AS...] which allows me to save that individual message to an external location as an ...
It would great to type the company name in the recipient input field and get a result list of the employee's email addresses.
Although Lotus Connections has a "mail community" feature, it's an all or nothing proposition. A great newsletter feature would include:
Just as with Commontime's mNotes I would like to be able to select more than one mailfile. This way I can have multiple mailboxes on my mobile device. It should also be possible to only sync the mails and not the calendar entries.
If you have several mail-in databases that ...
PROBLEM: Accidentaly drag a mail folder "somewhere"...
Solution: Prevent accidental folder moves by providing an option to confirm the drop after it has happened.
Lotus Notes has caused many frustrations over the years. One common frustration I have heard from various sources (i.e.http://www-10.lotus.com/ldd/nd85forum.nsf/DateAllThreadedWeb/37FAA68B2B9F3B8B852577F40077F8DA?opendocument&login ) has been that the ...
Often I get emails that have crafted "Principal" fields, but are actually "from" a server or someone who signed an agent. It'd be useful to allow checking the Principal field as well
Print of calendar is in black and white, which is not expected as user in all other interfaces can see calendar entries in diferent colors.
It looks like print preparation (generating pdf) is limited. Maybe it just neads some configuration.
Right click, View Image to see it in ...
In the latest iNotes client, when you send an email, there is a green bar displayed that tells you that 1 message was sent. It stays there for a while.
I wish we had a similar very visual notice in the rich client. I know that there is one at the ...
I have heard from several people and my own albeit limited experience backs this up: "outlook just seems to receive the email - none of this sending and receiving". This is in connection with situations where the user is running a local replica of their mail file.
What I ...
Another simple one.
By default, when you open an un-customised Notes 8.5 mailbox, the "Views" section doesn't contain any views. Simply put, it should!
Some examples might be:
When I copy an email to activity I would prefer to have an icon shown in my inbox (or sent) to see this. Otherwise I might copy the same email twice. It would also be very helpful to see it when I open this email. I would expect that the ...
Implement SPF or better Sender Rewriting Scheme for forwarded Mail.
In certain circumstances, enabled SPF will reject forwared Mails from your domain: If you have webuser which get their Mail forwarded to a external adress, a certain percentage of Mailserver will not accept this mails anymore, as ...
Enable easy creation of a rule to tune out of an email thread.
If the thread is of no interest (and I keep getting messages because someone chose to stick me in the cc list) I rightclick, choose 'Tune out'. This creates a rule based on the message ...
I'm sure other admins out there would find this useful, especially if, like me, you have to manage a high number of OUs, or if your Organisation is based on location. (Simply, our users are spread around a number of countries, so we have a User/Country/Organization hierarchical structure. Actually, it's ...
In a meeting body, you can click to send an email to any of the other invitees. However, the Chair's name is unclickable. Add the option to make this imporant address accessible to an attendee, else, add an option to Request Info as you can in the Lotus Notes calendar ...
Currently, if you use the Forward field in a Person doc, the email that gets forwarded looks like a normal email. In other words, the recipient can't recognize a forwarded message from their own "normal" message.
I'd like to see 2 new options appear when the Forward field is filled ...
It'd be nice to have a flag that records that I finished a follow-up on an email.
(My email is heavily customized, so it might've been missed on integration.)
Today the only notification is via Feed. Either you you use Notes 8.x sidebar rss feedreader, or you use a third party feed reader e.g. Internet Explorer.
But there are some problems. What if your company does not use 8.x Standard-Client, but Basic-Client? Furthermore 70-80% of employees do not know how to ...
Ability to email or chat with all or particular group members in Connections activity ...
There are many a times when we compose an email in lotus saying "Please find attached" or "Attachment is available" etc and forget to attach the required file!
This goes a long way and can have high impact / embarassment if it's an important attachment for a customer or ...
With auto housekeeping running on a mailfile eventually I often end up with folders that did have email in them but no longer have email in them. It'd be nice from the tools button or folders on the mailfile to be able to run a cleanup removing all folders from ...
The behavior is, once you do a spell check, save the email as draft and go back to that email later you should not have to re-check the words you already have signed off on.
I'm sure most of you are familar with the simple @Command([MailForward]) function. @Command([MailForward]) forwards the current document by placing its entire contents into a mail memo which the user then addresses and sends. I was tasked with duplicating this functionality, but for a subform on the current document. Futhermore, the ...
I'm sure You have the same problem if You have a large complex folder structure. You got a new mail, but the mail rule moves it into a folder somewhere deeeeeeep....then it's hard to find. Of course You can use "copy to folder" but then your inbox ...
It would be nice to provide an "email chaser" view to show all sent emails with no response. (that means the recipient has not responded yet. An action button "Send Chaser" would trigger a new memo with preconfigured text. (i.e "did u miss this email?", etc)
Did IBM do this just so you can annoy people with the ">' everywhere and to make it worse they give you and option in the preferences to change the charater. It's all pointless. RELPY and REPLY with HISTORY is fine.
Notes hierarcial addressing is very confusing to users and must be replaced with standard email format.
IBM already have problems with Lotus traveler as the iPhone mail app only support email format, and they wiill run into even more problem in the future as they have promised to support ...
