Make the Gateway not to require DB2

: Sametime / Sametime Gateway
: db2
Hynek Kobelka8110 - 09 2007 (4)
If you install the SameTime Gateway then you need to install a DB2 server as well, only so it can store the logs in there. This is something that a Domino database could do as well, or not ?

It would be great if the storage place would be ...

store NSF in more relational databases, not only DB2

: Domino Server / Other
: store, nsf, relational, databases, db2
Josep Alemany Fruitos1294 - 27 2007 (5)
From the 7.xx version of Domino we can store our databases in Domino or in the relational database Db2. Why we don't open this to other relational databases to be more competitive and install our Notes products everywhere??? Oracle, Informix, SQL Server, MySQL...

In this way, we can install ...

Drag, Drop & auto Create any RDBMS connection

: Lotus Enterprise Integrator
: lei, oracle, db2
Rick MacGuigan323 - 28 2007 (0)
It would be great if you could drag a (Oracle / DB2) table name (say from PL/SQL Developer) and drop it over an LEI object instance (LEI Administrator DB, LEI connection doc,.... ) and have it autoload the "Owner", "Name" and "Fields" on the connection doc. Prompt for the user ...

Add an SQL activity to allow for an sql statement to be entered

: Lotus Enterprise Integrator
: db2, lei
Bruce Lill6687 - 19 2009 (1)
Notrix allows for this and it would let you do things like a join to pull all data instead of having to run multiple activities to get the data.

You could test the sql out in IBM DB2 developer or other product and then just paste that statement in.

This is response to Ben Langhinrichics' request for book proposals.

"With companion products for Domino relying on Websphere Application Server, DB2, LDAP, how does a Domino Administrator go about deploying Sametime, Connections, et al, safe in the knowledge that the WAS/DB2/LDAP structure gives them the same data replication ...

New ODS: multiple files instead of a single file

: Domino Server / Other
: domino, ods, file, db2
Zoltan Szabo5573 - 26 2015 (3)
Do you think Domino ODS can be improved by using multiple small files instead of a single big file? DB2 uses something like this. A Domino database can be a directory (or zip?) instead of a file. one file for design, one file for ACL, index files, view files, datafiles, ...

Give acces to DB2 stored procedure inout and out parameters

: Domino Designer
: db2, parameters, stored procedure
Frédéric Fanchamps203 - 24 2009 (1)
Calling DB2 stored procedures works great, but there are "string" statement, not prepared statement with "?" parameters allowing to get the value from inout and out parameters after the call.
We need that.

Let's consider what DB2NSF does for us.

I like to stir the pot,and since one of the points of IdeaJam is to "gauge the marketability, popularity and viability" of N/D things let me propose this.

In a lot of ways DB2NSF seems like a holdover from the Dark Years when the goal was ...

LotusScript DB2 stored procedure call

: Lotus Enterprise Integrator
: lei, db2, stored procedure
Alex Shinkarenko130 - 15 2009 (2)
I'm trying to call a stored procedure on my DB2 database. I wrote the procedure and I think it works (it compiles!!!). Anyway, when I try to call it from a lotusscript agent I can't get it to work. All that is returned is: "1544 Cannot find connector 'db2'". Anybody ...
