Reward and Motivate People to Answer Forum Posts

: Lotus Technical Information / Community
: forums
Kathy Brown231 - 23 2010 / (2)
Reward people for posting answers to forum questions in a manner similar to (or integrated with) the developerWorks Autho Achievement Recognition Program.

Even better, users could vote on forum answers, helping readers when there are multiple answers, and authors getting a certain number of votes get recognition for ...

Provide an easy to way create a wiki article from an answered forum post

: Lotus Technical Information / Community
: wiki, forum, community
Kendra Bowker1566 - 23 2010 / (1)
Answers posted in the forums can be great candidates for wiki articles. Make it easy to
create wiki articles from answered forum posts. For example, provide a button in the forum post that
opens a new wiki article in the corresponding wiki.

Be able to see all of your posts across the different forums & community, etc.

Foua Vang2495 - 01 2010 / (3)
It would also be nice if I could see all of my posts across the different forums & community, etc.

Show wiki articles that relate to a forum question

: Lotus Technical Information / Community
: wiki, forum, community
Kendra Bowker1566 - 23 2010 / (1)
When someone posts a question in the forum, search the corresponding product wikis for related articles that  might answer it. Suggest links right as the forum post is created.

Enhance, Support and Promote Personal Connections within the Lotus Community

: Lotus Technical Information / Community
: personal network, personal connections, personal chat
Jennifer Stevenson115 - 12 2010 / (1)
It would be great to have the ability to be able to establish a personal connection (albeit virtual) with others within the Lotus Community in a more personal and private fashion - that is, of course, mutual on both sides. At the moment our connections seem to be established by ...

Community Calendar for all Lotus related events

: Lotus Technical Information / Community
: community calendar
Davanum Srinivas120 - 12 2010 / (1)
Can we please set up a shared calendar populated with all related events? So that there is one resource to go to, to check what's coming up next, to check what events are happening nearby? We could do something on tungle.me or google docs. One more feature would be for community ...

The Lotus Wiki's need a large, friendly "Contribute Now" button on the top of every page.

: Lotus Technical Information / Community
: wiki, contribute
Jess Stratton1345 - 05 2010 / (1)
I read the Lotus Wiki's and completely forget that I am entitled to make my own contributions there. Help Lotus encourage participation and expert posts by community members by putting a large, friendly, "Contribute Now!" button at the top of every page. It can say "Post your own article" or something of that ...

Add a big Feedback button to the product wikis and forums

: Lotus Technical Information / Community
: wikis, forums
Kendra Bowker1566 - 07 2010 / (0)
Add a big button to the home pages of the product forums and wikis that people can use to submit design suggestions or to report problems. The wikis have a feedback link now, but it's at the bottom of the page and is easy to miss.  Make the button the same in both spaces for ease of use.

Advertise the chat capability in the Lotus Technical Information and Education community on Greenhouse.

: Lotus Technical Information / Community
: ltie, greenhouse, sametime
Mike Michael100 - 05 2010 / (3)
Plenty of people already have the Greenhouse Community added to their Sametime client, but I have found some people did not even know you could do this or that the settings are available in Greenhouse. BleedYellow is great, but I do find some IBM folks via Greenhouse instead.

Enable instant messaging in wikis and forum posts

: Lotus Technical Information / Community
: wikis, forums, community
Kendra Bowker1566 - 06 2010 / (1)
Allow registered users to chat with the authors of wiki and forum posts.  Show when authors are online.  Provide a profile setting to allow authors to control whether they are available by chat.

Provide a "big picture" navigation to the different places to find information (for example Greenhouse, wikis, forums, dw, knowledge base, etc.)

: Lotus Technical Information / Community
: search, website
Femke Goedhart567 - 05 2010 / (0)
I would love to have a central point of access from where you can access and search all of the different IBM resources that are out there for Lotus. Currently you have DW, IBM support site, Greenhouse, Wiki's and the Business Partner site and you need multiple ID's to access ...

Separate forum content by audience (end users, admins, developers)

: Lotus Technical Information / Community
: forums
Jess Stratton1345 - 05 2010 / (1)
Make the forums easier to search by adding a checkbox in the post area for:
Developer
Administrator
End User

This would be especially useful for end users, so they could have an easy way to find Notes client solutions without having to be scared away by posts about actual ...

Ability to target searches based on the repository (e.g., just wikis, just forums)

: Lotus Technical Information / Community
: search, website
Femke Goedhart567 - 05 2010 / (1)
When doing searches I woul love to have a global search option acros all repositories that allows you to limit results to specific repositories. For instance search for just Wiki & forum posts or for Wiki posts & technotes.
Repositories should include all info resources currently available. See also "Provide ...

Show the user some related postings when they are posting new article/post

: Lotus Technical Information / Community
: forums, forum
Foua Vang2495 - 05 2010 / (0)
It would be nice when a user is posting to the forum that for example if they enter "DAOS", it would bring up related postings so that they would not repost something that someone already posted or this way for those that don't do searches before they post their questions, ...

Explore ways to features SME's to share their knowledge

: Lotus Technical Information / Community
: community board
Eileen Fitzgerald140 - 20 2010 / (0)
Organise a series of webinars , Meetings , Spotlights in Newsletters , recorded presentations from Business Partners. This should not be a product sales pitch but should provide value in the area that the SME is involved in ( and may hence add indirect value add for product feature)

Add Facebook Like (iFrame-version) to Wiki Post footers

: Lotus Technical Information / Community
: wiki, wikis, facebook, community, content, webcontent, web, social networking
Chris Toohey542 - 24 2010 / (1)
Add the Facebook Like (iFrame-version) to Wiki Post footers to allow readers to click-to-share useful articles and help promote contributions beyond the typical reach of the "yellow bubble".

It's a single line of JavaScript and you're done.

Have an option to show only the unanswered questions within the different forums & community

: Lotus Technical Information / Community
: forums
Foua Vang2495 - 01 2010 / (0)
Have an option to show only the unanswered questions within the different forums & community - this would eliminate the unnecessary reposting of unanswered questions because it is no longer at the top of the list...

: Lotus Technical Information / Community

Foua Vang2495 - 05 2010 / (0)
