Idea:

When searching a view with categorized columns, you get a results set back with the twistied Category listed. When you expand the category by clicking on the twistie, it expands but the category disappears. This is particularly frustrating when searching the log database as all you end up with is a list of docs with start and end times, but no dates.

Please change the view functionality for search results so that the categorized value does not disappear when expanded

When logged into a Sametime online meeting, your status is available, so anyone can chat with you whether in the meeting or not. I'd like to have the option to restrict my availability to chat with only meeting participants.

Idea:

When a server cluster is created, an auto-populate group should also be created and updated when cluster membership is changed.

Would be very useful for managing clusters via configuration docs etc.

Idea:

One great improvement with browsers has been the use of Ctrl-click to open a link in a new tab, but keep the current window "in focus".

I get a lot of messages that have multiple doc/app/view links in them, and I'd love to be able to open the links in a new tab, but keep the message I'm working in as the current window. Following what appears to be a fairly consistent standard, can we get the combination of Ctrl and mouse click to do this?

Idea:

When trying to run a compact on a very busy mail server it's almost impossible to catch the success/failure message on the server console, and refreshing the tasks view only lets me know when it has finished.

I'd like to have the option to select the tasks that I want to see messages from on the server console e.g. select Compact as the task, and all I get on my console is the messages from the Compact task - nothing else. Select Router and Replicator, and only those messages are visible.

The current console filter is a server side option, and is only based on message priority, not source.

Idea:

In cases where only one or two databases are corrupted for whatever reason, it would be so convenient to block access to the database to all except Full Access Administrators so that maintenance tasks can be run without interference.

If this were available, it would be best if any attempted connections to a database on a clustered server would failover to any cluster partner instead of the connection being refused because maintenance is being run (when fixup is running, an attempt to open a database will be refused, saying a consistency check is in progress - wouldn't it be great if it would failover to a cluster partner instead?)

Comment: Presuming you mean that the DB is not clustered, right? If it is clustered, then take it offline and any attempts to access it cause a failover event. Works great. Maybe try that instead.

I use several machines in the course of my work, and it would be very convenient to have the option to export a working set on one machine and import into another one (or send to a colleague so they can add it to their DDE!)

Trudging through workingsets.xml is no fun if you want to do this manually - the only option currently available. . . . .

Re the linked ideas issue. We are aware of the problem and will have it fixed ASAP, unfortunately we're just about to launch a new beta for the next version of IdeaJam so it may be a few weeks.

Comment: It would be nice to extend the clustering out-of-service status system to standalone servers, to help with maintenance.

But as Bill says, within a cluster this is possible right now. I'll promote the idea anyway, assuming you mean standalone servers!

Comment: I agree 100% with your idea and the need. It would be really cool if IBM finally decides to make this happen that they would implement these 2 functions:

1) the ability to save the working set for emailing to a co-worker as you stated
2) add working sets to the preferences with some option to keep them synced between all my computers like 'Xmarks' does for Firefox bookmarks/tabs/history and central location to save

Migrating upwards to Standard from Basic is strightforward, but if you go the other way (for Citrix implementation for example) from Standard to Basic, the user dictionary doesn't work.

I guess there are two options - have Standard maintain both dictionaries, or provide a tool to sync the dictionary files to have the contents of userdictionary.xml ro user.dic and vice-versa.
