Idea:

Allow the ability from the Admin Client Status tab to drop a specific internet/HTTP user from the Internet Users view or drop a specific IMAP user from the Server Tasks view. Would be useful when you know a specific user is having issues or you want to preempt a server crash when you see extra threads being attributed to a specific user.

view number of items in adminp queue

total size of FT indices

total size of view indices

Idea:

Add columns on Files tab view for the following in the Admin client:

number of documents in a database (instead of having to look at database properties) - helpful when trying to resolve cluster replication issues

date of last compact - (would be great to see when a database last had a good compact run, like the last fixup property)

total size of view indices

It would be oh so nice to have these properties in one place!

Comment: # of documents is stored in the Database Catalog. Replicate the database between your cluster members, create a custom view, and create a column to display DbNumDocuments.

Idea:

Centralize administration for Domino to include all Lotus products including Sametime and Quickr from the Domino Admin client -- instead of having to go to another space for Quickr and another space for Sametime. Tabs/bookmarks could be added for these products.

Comment: While I am not an admin, I can see the usefulness of that. The admin client could and should be a portal type application where the different modules for the different products could be plugged in and used in a way easiest for the admin.

Idea:

Add an option to mark meeting information private in the Room Reservation database - that is so it is visible only to invitees or creators of the reservation. Time slot and room would be available. Some users don't want to use the database as they are reluctant to have their "private" meetings displayed "publically."

Comment: I would think you would need/want to have the "reserver" name visible as well so they can be contacted for any issues regarding the reservation (i.e. bumping).

Notes Client / Other Database Applications: Beef Up Sametime in the Notes client

Idea:

A lot of end users are challenged by having to load more than one client for mail and another for instant messaging, and only load the Notes client. So their interface to Sametime is from within the Notes client. Which doesn't allow them to access all the functionality (at least in 7) that they have in the Connect client. Would it be possible to expand the functionality of this interface to more closely match that of the Sametime Connect client? Or add a feature in the Instant Messaging settings in user preferences to allow them to pick Sametime Connect client as their preferred interface so that it loads automatically and logs in with SSO as does the Notes client interface to Sametime? If design objects for Sametime Connect were included in the mail template, this would might also assist with deployment and updating of the Connect client in large environments.

Comment: What I saw at Lotusphere made me think that the Connect client was still separate, and that a lot of the functionality wasn't there for Notes but I'll definitely take a second look. Thanks!!!

Comment: Have you looked at Notes 8 yet Marie? I would take a look at that and see if you're happy with the integration. There is more that can be done, but basically the Sametime client has become part of the Notes 8 client.

Comment: This ability is partly there already.
If users reserve rooms from their Calendar (the preferred method) then the "Private" option is sent on the reservation request. It is detected and respected by the RnRMgr which will zap the Subject/Topic to "[** Private entry. The description is not available for display. **]" so even the use of the InfoBox will not expose the private info.
For users who direct book, they simply do not need to put in a meaningful Description.
It would seem a bit odd to have users specify a sensitive Description and then click a "Mark Private" checkbox only to have the text disappear... (If you try to hide it via scripts, it could still be read by InfoBox so its not really hidden is it??)

Comment: Making the text truely only visible to the Chair is not possible if they can use Document Properties to view any item. So here lies the rub...
If you keep the data there so only the Chair can see it (via some Hide When formula) then any user w/half a brain can bypass it and see the data anyway.
If you use Reader lists to hide the doc to avoid the InfoBox peekers then it appears as if R&R is 'broken' because "I dont see any meeting for 9AM - 9:30AM but the system says it is unavailable at that time!"
So the only answer is to truely remove the text but then whats the point of entering something only to remove it (and thus make it also hidden from the Chair)?
Perhaps some form of text packing/encoding so that only the Chair could decode it would work but that would probably take more cycles than its worth.
Still, I would love to hear some suggestions on dealing with this better....
