Share screen on Sametime chat
About it
Ability to share you screen while chatting on ST. It would work similarly to Lotus Live presentation, just would be much easier

I have an idea how to improve business efficiency and responsiveness time by adding a small update to Sametime Instant Messaging service. It would function as an offline status. How

If the user is in the Notes BES, add a button to send the sametime message as a BBM message immediately
Actually, completely including BBM functionality inside Sametime would be great

Allow Sametime users to see if someone is Out of Office (instead of just unavailable). This would save a lot of time and effort for users who currently try to get hold of somoene but only find out they are OOF by sending and email. As part of the

I like the "alert me when available" feature of sametime. However, if someone is on the phone they are not available. So I would like to be alerted when they are off the phone or VC.

Simple ideally really - allow Sametime integration for click to chat alongside names.

As of now we dont see the online status (Online, Away, etc) of the other person in sametime chat window. The online status (Online, Away, etc) should be visible in the chat window also. The chat window may display a little status icon like in sametime contacts list.

If you are away from your primary workstation/laptop and you log on to a another system to use Sametime , your chat transcripts would be stored in the cloud for retrieval at a later time when you return to your primary workstation/laptop. A time limit could be

Hi,
Add a field to a chat where we can put the subject of the chat. I think You are also faced with the problem to find the right chat in the history. If there is a subject it is easy to find or remember. If it has this field

Currently you must be logged into Sametime in order to use the screen capture tool. It should be available at all times.

It is very pity that Sametime Mobile client is limited to chat. I would like to have there A/V as well especially when all smartphone platforms support VoIP from the box, including SIP and codecs.
Also it would be very helpful to have Sametime meeting client, as planned in LotusLive Meetings,

I believe since Nokia is the most popular business smartphone in Europe and Symbian is second sold smartphone OS, LotusLive mobile client should not be limited to Android and iPhone only.

Since 8.5 we have two places for connectivity - one on the community settings tab and another one on meeting server tab. Both have proxy configuration settings but whilst community settings tab has more mature proxy configuration and has for example "Use IE proxy settings", the meeting server tab has

In Sametime 8.5.x, you cannot connect outside users for A/V calls because related connections are not NAT traversal.

I know that there is already a slide outlining what it takes to deploy all the component of sametime 8.5.x but I felt that there are many things left unexplained to those that read it. From my own experience of

Given the growth of mobile device deployments, the Sametime limited-use entitlement for just chat and presence awareness in Notes and webmail should be extended to mobile devices.
For just text chat and presence, the jump in cost and functionality to Standard isn't justifiable when web-conferencing, voice, and video chat are not

The Sametime limited-use entitlement for chat and presence awareness in Notes and webmail should include the ability to allow screen captures and images in the rich text.
Sametime Standard should not be required to get this functionality especially where web-conferencing, voice and video chat etc. are not needed. This a basic

I think it would be nice if the screen capture tool in the embeeded sametime client and the stand alone client could be accessed via shortcut key. Many companies bought 3rd party software to do that. We could save some money with that and it would eliminate the need to install
