Paranoid mode for mail file: track user activity in Detail

Andreas Imnitzer420 - Nov 17, 2010 / Comments (6)
User Activity in Database properties show access of users to your database. In mail, sometimes on would like to know, WHICH document somebody else read.
Even if you do not grant access to everybody, Full access Admins can read your mail.

I could imagine a $AccessedBy field similar to the $Updatedby, holding

Ability to save to log everything that is output in the status bar

Vlad Sh10122 - Oct 21, 2010 / Comments (2)
Currently, a log on the Client is useless, because it does not save the information from the "Client console" (status bar) in log.nsf.
In the setting of the Client ("File -> Preferences...") there Log Settings, which has a tick "Enable Logging". Set it, but it does not affect on the recording

automatic log.nsf roll-over

Jeroen Jacobs482 - Jul 1, 2010 / Comments (3)
On a server with a lot of users, the log file can get very big. It's possible to archive the log.nsf file, but it doesn't reduce the file-size, and it's most of the time impossible to compact the log.nsf while the server is running.

The solution as proposed by IBM: shutdown

Update Activity Trends to support new ODS features

Matt Buchanan1869 - Jan 15, 2009 / Comments (0)
I don't know about the rest of you, but I find Activity Logging and Activity Trends to be a really useful feature. Unfortunately, since it was introduced in 6 (or was it 6.5?) there have been very little updates to it, other than making the Tivoli Analyzer free in 7.

Sametime Chat Logging to a Domino NSF

Craig Wiseman21166 - Dec 6, 2007 / Comments (4)
For many SMB shops, this would be spectacular option. A simple NSF with limited views and an archive and/or purge agent to keep it reasonably sized.

This does NOT eliminate an option to log to a relational DB. I understand that for large shops, this may not perform as well as

Syslog support

Enable email log output to be sent to a remote syslog host. This is especially interesting in mixed environments, where different messaging systems interact over SMTP.

Create a mechanism to officially support server side chat logging that should be stored in a relational database. This is a major requirement for many companies and some of our biggest competitors have it.

I know we have a logging API, and I know Sametime comes with an example code on

Better Sametime Logging Please

Keith Brooks6783 - Nov 1, 2007 / Comments (1)
It would be nice to see Sametime logins by default show up in the Domino log without having to find the codes and restarting the server to do debugging.
How is a general admin supposed to know who is online for instance before they shut the server down?
