Even LLiNotes has this feature (import .ics file). Shouldn't the flagship Notes web experience also contain this feature?
Of course, you can do this with a Notes client but not all LL Notes users want to install it.

Today when You need to import a file to a NotesDocument, the only way is to go through the NotesEmbeddedObject class, which will result in the attachment to be placed at the bottom of the form. I would like to see an improvement so that I can import any file

I wish for Notes menu actions to import and export bookmarks to/from Text files (likely in html or xml format).
The main reason why I want this is because in my experience bookmark.nsf breaks every once in a while. Often one has to nuke it and replace by a new one. I

When I import multiple files at once and the file are sorted in the file selection by an alphabetic order
(file A, file B, file C)
the result is not always that the files are placed like that in my richt text field
(file C, file A, file B).

Presently the only way to import an attachment into a richtext field using LotusScript is using the foreground NotesUIDocument.Import method. Like many foreground methods this is messy as it requires the document to be open on the user's screen, can be interupted via keystrokes, causes the imported text to appear

In Notes client R7 I could import data from a Lotus 1-2-3 worksheet from a Notes view context, but in R8.5 is not possible anymore.
What about introducing a brand-new MS Excel or Symphony importing option?

Notes provides several security mechanisms to prevent unauthorized users from creating documents. First and foremost, we have the database ACL, which controls access at the file level. If all forms in the database have the same security requirements, then security is simple - just assign the ACL level

In Designer it is possible to select a design element and choose to export it (see screenshot). Why isn't it possible to import a design element this way? The import we have to code ourselves...

When I dynamically generate HTML I would like to be able to import it directly from the memory buffer where I created it such as a string variable or a NotesStream, etc. I see no need for me to have to create a temporary file to do that.

Very often I have the need to import a graphics into a Domino rich text field. Example JPG or GIF file. Currently there are no backend classes to do this. There should be a simple Lotusscript function to enable this, and allow for options like resize and rotate on import.
