Hi All,
I suggest to add a new property to the NotesDatabase object to store version (application version eg.: 2.13.04 ) info. I think everybody used a "v.2.3" kind of extension in the title or in the About Document.
If a version property would be added to the database it can

We can get all groups of the current user by '@UserNamesList', we can see all groups of any user by 'Effective access...' of the ACL dialog, but we can't get all groups of any user without programming tedious code.
What about an optional parameter 'UserName' for @UserNamesList and/or method Database.queryAccessNamesList(userName)?

This idea comes from the article 'Date fields in your format' on www.codestore.net.
The idea is basically to have the ability to specify date formatting on a database level instead on design element micro level (view column, form field).
At this moment I am working on an application that is rolled out worldwide

It may open new perspectives for the use of Domino (on the web).

When deleting users from the Domino Directory and select delete e-mail database, to be able to select delete archive database from server.

with a simple copy and paste (in a rich text field) you can easily see all the properties, instead of having to go through the 7 individual tabs.

if you open a database that is new to your workspace the database icon is added to the workspace tab of the currently opened database.
I would prefer that you can point to a dedicated tab in the preference where by default the icons will be placed under.
from there I can

Ever accidentally deleted a database? It can't be that hard to use the Recycle Bin on Windows Platforms instead of effecting an irriversible file system deletion.
This should occur at the API level so that all methods of deleting databases use the OS recycle bin if available.

WebDAV is currently only supported for design documents. Why not be able to use WebDAV as a protocol to create, edit and delete Notes documents? We could enrich our mashed up user experience with a cool Notes database integration in the Explorer.
Why does Lotus Domino suffer from incomplete WebDAV support?

In cases where only one or two databases are corrupted for whatever reason, it would be so convenient to block access to the database to all except Full Access Administrators so that maintenance tasks can be run without interference.
If this were available, it would be best if any attempted connections

a good option for downloads in Firefox that you have the option to open a file highlighted in its containing folder. I guess it would be helpful to have something for (local) databases on your workspace.
|
|
|
If we could extend this form property (include in menu) to be available when right-click a database from the workspace a lot of times we avoid that in a default frame a view is being loaded from which the index will be rebuilt first.
Okej, this is inproper application design but

I don't know about the rest of you, but I find Activity Logging and Activity Trends to be a really useful feature. Unfortunately, since it was introduced in 6 (or was it 6.5?) there have been very little updates to it, other than making the Tivoli Analyzer free in 7.

for local databases the option to open just the containing folder would be a timesaver to navigate through your local data structure (see attached image).

when the workspace is being maintained for the notes client it can help us to include a default set of icons to choose as database icon, just like you have in your system when you customize the icon for a folder (see image).
not so originally, but sometimes a timesaver

While other programs (tags2find,...) allow you to tag your documents on you local machine would it be a tought to have the ability to tag the databases on your workspace or installed on your local machine?
From a tagcloud then I could open a tagged database?

Today I started my Notes client and a consistency check on one of the databases on my workspace prohibited me to start using the Notes client directly (it took about 5 minutes to perform the check).
Why can't such a task run on the background or when I want to open the

Now that we moved away from Databases to Applications as a concept ;) Why use the stack feature (currently used to keep replicas together) to keep related applications together.
You know the scenario, you have a front-end database that the user clicks on, but you still separate databases for

Why do we have to digg so deep in Designer if we want to change the icon for a database (Other\Database resources\Icon) ?
Wouldnt it be much better to be change the icon from the database properties, preferably from a list gathered from "shared resource\images"

when copying a database, the new icon doesn't appear on the workspace until the copy is complete, and when it does, the title and template name is blank.
For very large dbs, or slow connections it can take some time before the copy completes, if you get distracted before completion, you
