Using Private Views in Lotus Notes has always been a bit of a double edge sword.

They do have their obvious benefits and can work fantastically. Unfortunately they have their limitations, which on paper would be quite easily resolved with a little work.

One "perfect" solution to display only a (dynamical) subset of data from a view

Right now we have "Embedded views with show single category","Private views", "@ViewSetInfo", "DB2 Query view". All of these solutions do nearly the same thing: Presenting the user only a dynamically filtered part of a view. None of these solutions works perfect.

Let DB Manager see "private views"

Very often a user called me that he is unable to see xy in some DBs in his view. But I´m as DB Manager couldn´t help him, because I didn´t see the view he use (because it is private)...
 
So I must visit his workstation to have a look ...

Hide fields properties in the document properties.

When creating a new field in lotus notes it will be good to have the possibility to choose if the field will be hide or not in the document properties .
 
Actually it's not easy to do it:
 
- Replace design and hide Formula\Lotuscript -> will hide all fields ...
