It would be very useful to know who changed a database quota, when it was changed & the before & after values. Otherwise, lazy administrators ignore the quota that should be enforced & increase quotas endlessly to placate complaining users.
Today every domino server has its own DAOS store, if DAOS is enabled.
It would be great we could have one DAOS store for many domino servers or rather for all servers in a domino domain.
And it would also great we could cluster the DAOS store.
It would be great to have in domino a server recycle bin, similar to the sitecollection recycle bin in sharepoint.
Every document that would be delete come first into the database recycle bin.
When the document is deleted from the database recylce bin it should be ...
I've been hacking the summary views of calendars, using embedded views to categorize single time entries, writing time-based agents, and ditzing with workarounds for @Today in views for quite awhile, more than a decade. I think it would be a real plus if I could provide more time-selectivity in views, without ...
If a database replicates after being isolated for a long time, it can bring back documents that were deleted if the deletion stub has been purged. There should be a setting that prevents replication of a replica that has not replicated within the purge interval. Example:
Someone with ...
When a server that is a member of a cluster performs consistency checks on a database, or compacts a database, it should automatically mark the database as Out of Service in the Cluster Database Directory for the duration of the operation.
(In the case of compact, it will only ...
Using the native backup tools that ship, you can't backup Domino when running on AS/400, er, System i, er POWER i, er IBM i for POWER systems.
Since IBM lock-stock & barrel owns & codes Domino & the IBM i, this should be possible.
If a database refreshes/replaces its design from its master template then in each separate design element the property "Prohibit design refresh or replace to modify" or "Inherit from the design template:" can prevent that this element is inherited.
While this functionality is intended and usefull in many situations, most of ...
As a software developer working with Lotus Notes, I would like to formally request the release of documentation for the NSF file format. Lotus Notes has a huge install base, and your customers have invested a lot of trust in your product, storing vital information within Notes databases.
I think this is long overdue now. Please IBM, give us VSS for Domino ?
I'm so tired of always having to create Freeze/Thaw scripts stop/start the Domino-service before a backup. Pretty much every serious application on Windows supports it (DB2, Oracle, SQL, Exchange, etc....) and has done so the last ...
TNEF is an MS-proprietary format. When an email comes in with a Winmail.dat attachment, the router is smart enough (as of 7.0.2) to on the fly convert it to a usable format.
The IMAP task isn't as smart (yet). If you're running Outlook as an IMAP client (don't ask), ...
We currently have:
- scheduled replication
- cluster (streaming) replication
I would like to see the following additions/variations:
- "On Change PUSH replication". When a document gets save this one document is pushed to the databases specified for that server. This would be like a "lazy cluster" without failover or ...
Sometimes the DAOS catalog comes out of sync. This can be caused by a server crash or a single document in a single database becomes corrupt.
You have then to re-sync the whole catalog. This can take a lot of time if you have many databases DAOSified.
It would be ...
Design elements within Databases that inherit design, and design elements that inherit from other databases, should not physically exist in the inherited database, and instead be referenced by some kind of internal Domino pointer. This is made more practical today by using DB2 as a backend, where 'schemas' can be ...
An extension for Mac OsX Spotlight or Beagle to search into a Domino database.
If you create a new database with replicas on other locations servers, and publish the new database by sending a doclink to the users at the same day, the doc/database link will always try to open the replica on the server the doclink was created from. This is because at ...
Allow for more control over the creation of a full text index for a database.
While an idea (linked above) already suggesting to redirect the full-text index creation for the whole server to a dedicated volume of (inexpensive and slow) disks, it does not go far enough to allow ...
Currently with Policies they are applied based on OU or explicitly. Further, for archive policies, you can choose either a specific archive server, or choose to archive to the home mail server.
This is not flexible enough if you have many users in the same OU spread across 2 or more ...
Why not permit a hard quota on an NSF, and make that it's *starting* size as well, so no new OS-level allocation has to occur? I can think of many cases where I'd like to say "make this NSF 100MB, no matter what data is in it. Just pre-allocate the ...
