Just another old idea: create a mail, enter a date/time when the mail should be sent, click Send, the mail will stay in mail.box until it's time to release it, then the server (or client) to send it out. And of course a way to create such a mail in ...
When you open an email, whether received internally or externally it would be great if all the attachment/s were positioned in a pane at the top of the email (I believe Outlook does this and DWA does it but puts at the bottom which I'm ok with). I am sick ...
In Microsoft Outlook/Exchange you have the option of saving messages outside of Outlook into your files system with your other documents (Word Documents, Spreadsheets, etc). You can then open up the documents and they open in Outlook/Exchange.
I would like Lotus Notes to be able to do the same ...
While editing an e-mail (or anything else for that matter), I would like [Paste Special...] added to the right-click menu for the mouse. I am frequently pasting from the web and other sources and need to remove the formatting.
In a Domino Domain, it would be nice when the user can populate his own spam object as a domino domain-based rule.
So, each company builds up its own Spam Database automatically for a cleaner mail.box ;)
Addition (thnx, Kenneth):
Of course the submission of a Spamrule by ...
I'd like to have a drop down list which enables me to choose the signature I want added to the email. (or blog/forum post) Today I get around this by using my Paste Information application, but I'd rather have this integrated.
When a user creates a folder containing (\) or (/) for example, he/she is not warned that this is not authorized, same if total folder length is too long, ... . The system allows it to be created and thus can generate a lot of issues. I have a user here with ...
it would be great to be able to see before I open an email if in a view/folder if a return receipt has been requested.
Side Note: I don't believe you should prevent return receipts from being sent, I just want to see clearly via an icon if a return ...
Break the mail file up into the component portions:
This idea based on my blogpost here: http://www.devinolson.net/devin/SpankysPlace.nsf/d6plinks/DOLN-7BMK95
No matter how much we train people, hitting block this sender isn't going to stop spam.
Sure I can remove it, but it should be optional, and off/hidden by default.
I often get requests from users asking how they can grant access to folders in their mail file to a colleague. eg. they're working on a project and they want to share just the e-mails in one or two folders.
For a product is all about collaboration, I'm amazed there ...
I would suggest that the complete mail functionality of the Notes-client would be separated into a Notes-Mail-Client only. All other parts would remain as a separare "Notes-Application-Client".
The advantages would be:
- the mail client UI could be done much simpler as it would ...
I have this customer migrated from Exchange but still running DAMO (Outlook) next to Lotus Notes. This is simply because of the need to read and get content from PST files. "Why not migrate them?". Well, an estimation of the conversion showed a enormous load to achive this so the plan ...
The Linux and Mac Notes clients lack this powerful tool. With all clients being built on Eclipse, there should be better feature synchronization across platforms. But, it is only available on the Windows client. Sadly, IBM doesn't promote it much either and should--as it really helps people stay current with ...
Quite simple : when you save an attachment to, let's say, your desktop you need to go the your desktop to open it. No way of save and open the attachment. Not very handy, is it?
My suggestion is this: replace the Notes memo letterhead with a photo of the sender.
This could be achieved by modifying the mailfile template to display an image called from a Directory view. This might use a new index value or simply use the person's internal name.
If integrated ...
It would be nice to not need 5 or more location documents for all my emails.
While I can have one inbox, I can not have multiple outgoing email names/addresses from that one box, thus 5 different location docs/dbs, etc.
I can make personal stationery, but not personal email addresses?
It's great that you can reduce peoples access to Editor and provide most of the functinality that they need (enable OOO, grant access) but in doing so, it prevents usrs from being able to compact their mail file.
I would find it useful to be able to categorize emails (Similar to GMail's Labels) and have a view that showed emails by Category.
I think I will probably code this for myself today, but thought others would find it useful if it was included in the Notes mail ...
Rules are useful to manage incoming mails, but not for already existing mails in the mailbox. Therefore I would like to have the ability to use rules for already existing mails.
