full support for HTML and JavaScript when presenting a form in a dialogbox window would increase the look and functionality of the dialogbox (Notes client).

Nowadays passthru html is supported but a simple

<div style="border:1px solid #FF000;"> My div</div>

has not the desired effect.

I would also like support for JS so we can build in AJAX functionality

The support of passthru html in Notes client is just punk. I don't think the client can display a hybrid of Richtext form data and Html correctly and elegantly unless IBM does a major change to the proprietary data format.

I'm really not sure what HTML in a dialogbox would give you. The example of a div with a border can be achieved with a table, so that's completely doable today. Could you give me an example of something you have tried that simply couldn't be done?

@charles, you give an example yourself already. If I want to display data in a table I would use the table tags, not div tags.

Another BIG problem is that the html rendering occurs when loading a document, not when the document is already loaded. Any changes on the HTML will have NO effect for the user. Hopefully the Notes 8 client will solve this.

I'm just not sure why you want to use HTML for this instead of the native Notes elements, particularly since you specify this is for the Notes client. I guess that's the point of this idea, to add that functionality. It's not something I would ever use, so I'm demoting it.

most the applications I work on use Notes as the editing client and Domino as the HTML rendering engine. Since the support of HTML/CSS in the Notes client lies far behind of that of the standard browsers users are forced to save the documents they work on and open them in a browser to see their results.

I would prefer that my users can work within one program, preferably Notes, and dont have to judge their work in a second program.

Luckily it seems that Notes 8 is going to cover this gap up (I hope)
