Our company has purchased a couple of other companies recently.  I know that we could consolidate all our mail infrastrcuture into one and let the existing users keep their existing internet e-mail address (different domains).  The problem I have is that we have some users who have "personas" in each domain.  Current;y, since we haven't integrated, this means they have multiple e-mail clients (Notes & Outlook) going against the proper back-end (Domino & Exchange).  If we consolidate, I don't have any easy way for this person to have one mailbox, but 2 different outgoing internet e-mail addresses.  It would be nice that if a message came into john@companyA.com, his reply would go out as john@companyA.com and a message to john@comapnyB.com would respond from john@companyB.com. With the amount or mergers & acquisitions going on, I would think this would be something alot of people would like IBM/Lotus to address.

@1 - that was my thought. I don't disagree with the idea, but I don't see how this is siginificantly different.

I have found a temporary work around for this. I've been using the Team Mailbox template from OpenNTF for awhile now. Since this can create a "persona" for it's mail-in DB that hides the actual person who is using it (i.e. no "sent by abc" added to the message), I did some testing and this will let someone manage e-mail addresses for 2 different email domains from a "single" mailbox. For the person's main account, you create a real Notes mail account. Using the Team Mailbox template you create a mail-in DB for their secondary address(es). In the mail-in DB, enable the auto-reminder agent to send a notice to their main account. When the receive this notice in their main inbox, they can click on the doc link to reply and/or forward this message.

This is similar to my requests for POP account features that I posted under Notes Client - Mail topics dated Feb 18. Some people rejected it without commenting. I expect they don't have multiple identities in Notes or use IMAP or POP.
