A database property where we can specify a logical name for the database where the Domino web server will use that to generate URL using the logical name instead of using the file path name.
Example:  A database under Domino data root \folder01\folder02\filename will generate a url hostname\folder01\folder02\filename
Instead we specify a property web name as ideaJam for the database and then web server generates URL of the form hostname\ideaJam

Can't you do that already with website rules?
2) Christian Brandlehner1762 (30 May 2008)
I agree that this could be done using website rules.
3) John Foldager620 (26 Nov 2010)
I agree that this could be done using website rules, however it would be cool to be able to create all of these application-specific rules inside the NSF file.

I am aware that this could potentially lead to conflicts between applications, but this could fx. be solved in the following way:

- The application NSF contains a configuration file (presumable something like the XML file for normal servlets) containing all the URL alias'es, redirects and servlet filters for that application.
- Whenever that configuration file is changed a document is created or updated in the Internet Sites list on the specific server and by default disabled if there has been any changes compared to previous version. The system administrator should look through the 'copy of' the configuration file from the Internet Sites view and enable it when he/she finds it okay.
- If later on the system administrator sees that an application is causing problems for other applications he/she can disable that single Internet Sites document and the entire application is disabled and the developer should be contacted to make changes.... or what-ever is necessary.
