The more people who participate in a jam, the more fun.  One easy way to get more people on stage is to have a supply of hand percussion instruments: maracas, tambourine, mini cymbals, castanets, guiro (my personal favorite), and of course, cowbells.  Plus, many of these instruments really do require a great deal of skill to play well, so it's not just a way to get a bunch of non-musicians on stage -- it's a way to give some more people the chance to really show what they can do.

I wish I could be there. There is a cool demo of the different instruments in action here { Link } :-)

I got a fever...

And the only prescription is more cowbell!

I did the cowbell last year :)

Anyone against broadcasting it?

Robert - I was the first one to do the cowbell... ...and I still have the fever!!!
