I would like to see a few colour schemes that can be applied with a click of a button to a form, view, or a whole app. These would have to be designed by some graphics pro so that they are aesthetically pleasing and follow the usability rules.
As a logical extension I would then like to see a colour scheme editor so that we could create our own schemes and export/import them. Naturally, we could then create a library with them and who knows even sort them according to popularity much like this site works ;-)

I like black background with green text! Nothing beats a real mainframe terminal.
You could try Lotus Quickr, it has a one mouse click Theme changing. Lotus Quickr has lots of features which people are even nowadays making from scratch or trying to reproduce. It's a waste of time and money. You can customize the Quickr templates to your business needs (although there is seldom a need to). You can't do that in SharePoint, you will even lose all data when changing a "Theme" or "Template".

I like 3270 terminal screens, too. So much easier on the eye, without the eye candy.
I forgot to mention that this would go beyond colours, a la what CSS does one the web in that I would include all style in the scheme. So essentially CSS for the Notes Client.

I agree. The fact that CSS only applies to a Notes form or page makes using CSS for Notes client UIs a real time waster. Users spend a lot of time looking at views...and we spend a lot of time changing them to meet standards.

I think most developers want the feature, but it's difficult to implement in the current infrastructure of Notes CD data, unless IBM discarded the strong tradition of version compatibility.
