If we could extend this form property (include in menu) to be available when right-click a database from the workspace a lot of times we avoid that in a default frame a view is being loaded from which the index will be rebuilt first.

Okej, this is inproper application design but I see it 4 out of 5 times.

I've read the suggestion three time now, and still have not idea what it is you are asking for.

You want to Right-Click a database, and see an option in it's menu - I get that - but exactly what action do you want to see ?

That the form selected will be opened.

Maybe a sub header 'create' would have made it more clear

Sorry - but when selecting a Database, that may have 1,000's of documents, and many different Forms, it does not make sense to have an option to open "the form" for the database.

Unless you have some specific "the form" that exists just once for any given database ?

Can you please expand on by what you mean by "the form" ? Compose a new document with the default form perhaps ?

@Graham:

can you explain me the extra value why the 'create' menu option with available forms is ONLY available AFTER you have entered the application?

In the current situation you have to enter the database first to be able to create a new document.

I see a lot of designs where a frameset is being used and a view with an automatic index in part of a default frameset.

This causes that people have to wait before the view is re-indexed.

If we could avoid that waiting by making the 'create' option available from a 'database icon' level people could start creating documents without having to enter the application first.

something similar if you create a document in the background using lotusscript (okej you have to enter the database but NOT a view).

when you have a lot of forms available from your create - menu I think this is implicit bad design also...

I hope I could make my request clear this time...

The Create menu is available as soon as you select (single-click) the database in the Workspace (for those of us who still use workspace....) You don't need to actually open the database in order to create a new document with a given form.

If the requirement is to add the Create menu to the right-click on the database, I would support that (but the original post did not specify that clearly.)
