I would like to see search that expands the view/folder I have open. Sometimes I am looking for related documents that can be in my inbox, draft, folders or sent. I do not want go through all the views / folders separate to see if a related document is in there (the number of folders is quiet a lot)

You can search AllDocuments.

Always nice to open a view with ALL the documents and then start searching.
Also the icons really tell me immediately where the mail is located (in which folder for example)

With due respect to all the silent citizens that demoted this idea, it should be recognised that the way search works in Notes is highly idiosynchratic and out-of-step with the way 300% of the world likes to search. Searching should be contextual. If you're lead to believe that you're in your mailbox, searching your mailbox should be SEARCHING YOUR MAILBOX. Not specific categories of mail. Sure we get it, we're nerds. Think about normal people.

Not sure what version we're talking about here, but in Notes 8.5, you have the Search All Mail box permanently available in the toolbar. When you search, it opens the All Documents view of the mail file and displays the results. In the 8.5 All Documents view, there is an additional column which shows which folders mails have been filed in.
