Every version of Quickr should be able to run templates written in previous versions the way nsf and ntf files are "backward compatible."  So far,  each incremental version has caused problems with templates, preventing upgrades.
As an example, the current SNAPPS templates are not able to be run on Quickr 8.1.

If in a space with rapid changes like webdevelopment in the last years, strict backward compability can cause a lot of aditional costs. So I think an update by some script could be a better option.

Up update script would be a better idea. Quickr has to be able to change and evolve quickly in this environment.

Installed Quickr 8.1 on Domino 8.0.1 and did a fresh install of SNAPPS templates >> no problem - working as planned

@Rainer - beg to differ...some things work and some don't. It may take some time to find the nonworking components but they are there, and they are important.

Rainer, you should change your vote!
