For Notes client (as opposed to Web client):
I know tables claim to support fixed width column sizes, but in many respects they behave more like relative widths than fixed widths. e.g. If the table width is 8" and a column width is specified as 2" then it really only occupies 25% of the available space whenever the space to display the table falls below 8". If the window/frame is 4" wide my 2" column is reduced to 1" and my text is usually wrapping on every row of the table... UGLY!!!!
Previewing documents in a preview pane to the right (as per Notes 8 mail) or including a form in a much smaller window as part of a composite application are two of several scenarios in which this can occur. I suspect with the growth of composite applications in the post Notes 8 world such scenarios will become more common. I would like to be able to control the widths of some columns in my table so that they remain fixed or never shrink to less than a nominated width. Other columns would shrink to fit the available space (or perhaps scroll), much in the same was as NotesViews and Frames can be specified.
