would you know which group is in which subgroup? I miss such a feature and it would be nice to have it in domino :).

A simple group topology :)

In the Group view of the Domino Directory (@ least in version 7, possibly version 6.5x) there is a "Find Group Member" action button. You specify a common name (either user, server, or group) and it will display all the groups that value is in. Is that what you are looking for, or do you mean more detailed like, group 1 is in group 2, group 2 is in group 4, and group 4 is in group 10. Thus technically, group 1 is also in group 10?

We have patched our mobile directory (like CDC, just with group members) with a View to all groups which one member/group/... is in...

I would think you could create a categorized view, by group name, append the number of sub-groups/documents below it so you would know, then expand the group...you could even write an agent to to the tree traversal and feed it into a spreadsheet for charts and graphs purposes if needbe.

What I would like to have is a kind of tree...

It doesnīt help me to customize my directory... because it didnīt solve the problem:

"Paul Test" is in the in the Group xy_Teamleader. This group is part from xy_team, and this group is part from xy_project group.

At the moment there is no way (which I know) to see that Paul Weber is part from xy_project...

A group tree that can
1.display in a way like normal treeview.
2.calculate both fathers and sons of a specified group(direct or not).
3.come with a class that can be used in lotusscript & java.

There is the admin client feature as described in the first comment. Also, I have a custom view of Groups by Member. Displays groups sorted and categorized by the members field. It is easy to search for each group and see the next level group.

Regarding the first comment, the Group Manage tool in the domino administrator and viewing by Member Hierarchy is a better option than the Find group tool which I think is lame. I believe groups need a major make-over, but I will post that seperately!
