It would be good to have an import option in "Design icon" dialog box to import custom images and customize further as per need. It's hard to design complex logo pixel by pixel.

You can use use Copy - Paste: Copy image and then Ctrl+V in the icon dialog in the Designer.

Thanks Lilja, I never tried this. But still I find difficulties to re size in good visible shape.

I do not like the idea that IBM has to spent their precious time to implement functions of other packages.
When you import a logo that has a different size, it will need resizing and that process can better be done in another package. Here you can resize your logo to 32x32 pixels and copy and paste it in your Notes designer.

You can use Photoshop, Paint Shop Pro, Paint.net ({ Link } free) or GIMP ({ Link } free) to manipulate your icon
I would rather see effort spent on allowing at last 256 colours for an icon and the ability to use an image resource as the icon instead

creating thumbnails is already enabled for a field, why not for the icon?
I do not vote for this idea since icon improvements have already been posted in other ideas.
