Provide keyboard shortcuts for common mail tasks
Use this IdeaSpace to post ideas about the Notes Client.
I'd like to be able to click r to reply, a to reply to all, etc... like Gmail.

There's always the <Alt>-# shortcut where # is the number of the action bar button (and then using the cursor keys to find the sub-action (if applicable)).
But yes, keyboard shortcuts are often overlooked in a lot of programs. Anyone try Office 2007 lately? If you still remember the shortcuts from 2003, you're good to go, but other than that you're stuck with browsing through toolbars, using the mouse. Sure it looks nice, but I'd rather 'upgrade' back to 2003 from my personal usability perspective :-p

I think that extending the CTRL+R to reply in line with what we have already would be better than just the a, f or r keys. You would kill the quick search in a view with the approach used here.
But there are similar problems with CTRL+F to forward, we would loose the Find shortcut
CTRL+A would loose the select all shortcut.
Not and easy solution but at least CTRL+R could be implemented.

The only problem I have with this is that Notes is not an email client - it's a database client.
So what happens if you do a Ctrl-R in a non-mail database ?
If the short-cuts were part of a database-design (effective only when the database had focus), then I'd support this, but NOT as part of the built-in client.
