We use open office on many machines in our big company. So it would be nice if the build in lotus notes viewer can be used to read these open office document. Because not on every workstation is open office installed. Some user must read only those documents. In the past we installed the MS-Office Document viewer. But since we moved to open office this a small problem for some users.

What version of Notes are you using? I thought that the View button, in 801, would open any ooo/odf document in Symphony.

The issue with the viewers is they are licensed technology. If the the technology doesnt have odf viewers, Notes won't. I think the chance of having Symphony do more light-weight viewing is a better option
