Our user community has been in the practice of switching IDs (to either special IDs for security purposes or user IDs). In Release 8, when a user switches IDs, all Sametime settings are lost and the user must reset everything and log back into Sametime.

As I understand it, IBM made this change as an enhancement. The Sametime data is saved to a text file and once the user selected File/Security/Switch IDs, the information in that text file is wiped out. The problem is when the user switches back to his/her ID, the Sametime settings are not restored.

IBM needs to save these settings saved to an ID related file so when the user logs in or switches back to his/her ID, the settings are still there for that user.

New information on this... spoke with IBM and there is an existing SPR GRCE73GHNQ: "Stored passwords lost when switching IDs/locations" on this topic. Unclear as to if or when a fix will be implemented. They did say that when and if the SPR is fixed, it will appear in their fixlist database:

As a new convert to Notes 8.0.2, this is amazingly annoying! I hope IBM fixes that ASAP!
