Domino Designer's XPage interface has a masterful way of managing items so I'm not chasing around for the random file in the random directory. I'm heavily indebted to the designers of Designer for this.
The bean & controls file arrangement needs that kind of treatment. I wish all the java, XML, and random files were collocated on one panel; that I could switch quickly among them all; that they would automatically adjust fo changes in one another as much as possible.
If it were possible, and I don't know whether it is or not, I wish we had a "bean" XML file that contained enough information to generate **all** these fragmented, everywhere-located files, so I wouldn't be bothered. When I want to add an attribute to a bean, I just don't want to do it three or four times. It would be really cool if the Java of a control could be understood from such a Domino design element much the same was as a Java file is understood and edited, as well as all the information required for the config file(s).
