When using the full 8.x client, we already have a "lotus" icon always sitting in the taskbar. Please have that icon present the user with an intuitive and useful new mail popup. (see screenshot)

Would be sooooo much better than the current messagebox!
Off course also use this for notifying a user that a meeting is about to begin, etc.
Would love it if you could also use this notification mechanism for custom apps, like a task has been assigned to you.
Should be hard to miss, but easy to ignore ;-)
