Let's face it... there's aren't enough AC power outlets in session rooms, and there never will be.  If you're carrying your laptop with you in your yellow backpack, and if you're carrying the power brick, too, then the weight of a cheap little 6 outlet power strip isn't a lot to add.  So, bring a power strip!  That way, when you plug into one of the few precious power outlets in the session rooms, you can "Release the Power" to others, too!

1) Randy Smith (29 Nov 2007)
If you're the one hauling around the power strip, would it be considered bad form to accept tips from those that are sharing your power? Also, what would be considered a reasonable tip in this situation?
2) Devin Olson (04 Dec 2007)
@1 - I think accepting any form of monetary compensation would be poor form. Cookies or liquid refreshment (preferably from malted barley) should be ok.
3) Charles Robinson (07 Dec 2007)
Great idea, Richard. I'll be sure to bring one with me. :-)
4) Danny Lawrence (11 Dec 2007)
I bting one of these { Link }
not exactly a power strip, but it lets me "share the power" (or "jump on" someone's already in use outlet)
5) Ray Bilyk (26 Sep 2008)
Great idea! I would add to not just bring the strip, but an additional power supply, especially if you have to present more than one day, and your first one gets misplaced...
6) John Palmer (06 Oct 2008)
If I remember, announcements were made that you couldn't use ANY of the outlets in the session rooms as it was a 'safety and fire hazard'.

Has this changed, cause I was ALWAYS looking at the floor for the one or two floor outlets?
