It would be nice to have a way to migrate from Sharepoint to Quickr. Builtin would be wonderful, but even a separate software from IBM would be nice. I know there are 3rd party tools, but they are EXTREMELY expensive, when you only have a couple of sharepoint sites to migrate.

Maybe these tools are so expensive, because those parties know that companies have already spent so much money on Sharepoint, that these companies can easily affort their expensive tool.
2) Dale Dean1273 (18 Feb 2009)
Well we are CERTAINLY not one of those companies. Apparently we spent all of our money on Sharepoint before I started here.

@Dale , If you have good idea about the SharePoint data storage model , probably you can write code in LS to read sql server table and populate accordingly. It's harder but possible approach.

This would really help sell the move to Quickr. It might even make it easy to show a customer their data in Quickr before they make the commitment.

As you mention, there are third party tools, and IBM has used that 3rd party technology in Lotus Quickr Content Integrator which migrates content from Sharepoint to Lotus Quickr (Domino Services). If it's mostly documents that you want to migrate there is also the choice of doing something custom with the Quickr REST services.

At least one of the third party companies is quite flexible in one-off migration scenarios, even leasing their software for a fraction of the purchase price.
