On our dev server, one of the backup strategies we use is simply to copy a database once a day into a backups directory. The problem is that all of the scheduled agents continue to run so over time logs get clogged up and the server has an increasing load to deal with.

So what I'm looking for is a way that I can disable all scheduled agents in a database (or ideally in a directory) with a single click.

What about the database property "Disable background agents for this database?" You have to set it on each db, true...

Backup strategies Matt? ;-)

I know, oh the irony. Wouldn't have helped with last weeks mishap as we only copy the database design, no documents.

How do you copy the database? Via a Domino agent? If so, then Rob's comment is the way to go.

We just do manual copies. Very low-tech really. But Rob's suggestion is very helpful.

There should be a property in the Copy Database dialog box, "Disable all agents"

If you use an external database to kick off the agents, and that code gets a handle on your database by database name, then only the one set of agents will be executed.
