An design element I can add as an option to my view in display mode where I can specify what the information in the view contains. For example when one of the table headers is labbeled CR, in the legend I can say that CR stands for Change Request. I could nowadays create the view on top in a frameset and in the bottom frame a page with the legend info, but this will require an extra design element (frameset)...

My solution to show the meaning of icons is to add an action to the right of the view with the following code:
@PickList([Custom]:[Single]; @DbName; "Legenda"; "Legenda"; ""; 1)
and add a hidden view "Legenda" with documents that have two attributes: the icon value and an explanory text.
When you press the button a popup will show with the icons and their meaning.

Although I like the mouse-over idea for column headings and view icons, a legend would be nice to define row colors.
