We are beginning to roll out the 8.0.1 client.  It is becoming apparent that we need to disable adding names to "Recent Contacts".  The feature is causing more problems (i.e ambiguous names) than the convenience is worth.  I would like to do this using a Policy, but the option to restrict the adding of names does not exist in the policy documents.

This "feature" is enabled by default and must be disabled by the user.  It should be controllable by a policy.

Anything a user can do should be changeable by a policy.

If we could only get rid of all the UI-misfeatures Lotus saddle us with in this way, Notes might become a quite good product with time... ;-)

Can be controlled with script if needs be, but I would agree a policy option would be beneficial. For those of us who have performed migrations TO Notes/Domino, this option would be invaluable.

Do you know the DisableDPABProcessing notes.ini entry?

{ Link }

this can be set via desktop policy.

I think this has been accomplished in 8.5 { Link } and should probably me marked as adopted.

I would like to see enhanced policies to give administrators more client control - see here: { Link }
