Ability to autozip attachments when attaching in the mail memo , this would help save db size.

The attachments are compressed (LZ1) when you add them to the document (message).
There is code in OpenNTF and add-ons that do this so the fields are zipped for internet mail.
For most users this would mean added steps to access the attachments.

Bruce , it does not work , we have tested in our environment.

Are you measuring the document size or the attachment size? With the LZ1 the document will be smaller not the attachment.
And for those that need it, your link has a great solution.
I've never had a customer request it as zip utilities are in WIndows or freely available.

I believe you will find Zipmail does just what you are asking. I have used it at a company in the past and it worked great. No, I don't make a commission, but perhaps I should. Tell 'em David, "The Notes Guy in Seattle" sent you. I'm sure they'll cut you a deal.

@4 is correct. ZipMail is a decent product and they attend just about every major LUG you can imagine...ardent supporters of the Lotus Community. Neither a reseller, nor affiliated with them, but respect that they have a loyal presence and remember attendees across shows.
